Marella Discovery Caribbean Cruise | Grenada Rhum Runner | Day 7 Exotic Islands 2025

In this week's Marella Discovery Exotic Islands Caribbean cruise series we arrive in beautiful #grenada ! We had an excursion booked through #marellacruises this was the Rhum Runner.

We started the day a little later as we weren't docking until 1pm and our excursion was at 2pm. We used some of the time this morning to start packing to make it easier later on in the day. We had lunch at the Glass House which was great as always. We then decided to go and find the other llamas \ alpacas. We had a drink at the Coffee Port for the first time which was lovely, a really nice area on the ship. We wished we had come here earlier but will make sure to take full advantage of this next time.

We then had a wander around the ship, we ended up getting in the lift with Captain Ryan which was a funny experience! We had a walk around the pool deck with live music on which was a really good vibe and feeling, the weather was beautiful this day. It was then time for our Rhum Runner excursion, we were amongst some of the last to board and because of this had to stand up on the way out. We would recommend getting there quite early and would make sure to do this if we did this trip again. We were given rum punch and fruit quite early into this, steel drum band were playing and we were getting information about Grenada from the team.

We were thankful to have stayed downstairs on the catamaran as it started raining heavily so we were glad of the cover. We made a stop at Morne Rouge Beach which was beautiful, very picturesque. You needed to walk the plan to get off the boat but it wasn't as daunting as we had first thought and the crew all helped. Dane went in the sea for a little while, I paddled slightly and then went back to the shade to relax with more rum punch which they were bringing around the beach. After a relax we decided to get back on the boat a bit earlier to get a seat and we bought a carib each (rum punch and a non alcoholic option was included but there was a small charge for beer and water bottles).

Once everyone was back on board the steel drum music began again and the rum punch was flowing. We did a conga which led into the limbo after a bit which was great fun! It was a brilliant fun atmosphere on the way back and we absolutely loved it! Everyone was having a great time and it was just so feel good!

Once we got back on board Marella we got ready quickly so we could get to the Glass House early and hopefully get a table after missing out the other day. This plan worked and we only had to wait about 15 minutes and we had a drinks order taken while we waited. We both decided to go for the upcharge skewers which were excellent and well worth the money, we also had 3 tapas each. I had the baileys cheesecake too which was fantastic and so well presented. This was one of our favourite meals onboard, the service, food & drinks and the atmosphere were fantastic and made for a brilliant evening!

After the meal we made our way to deck 6 to get a place to view the Farewell Discovery show in the atrium, we had a drink from the Coffee Port while we watched this. It is a show that celebrates all the staff and crew on board and it really is brilliant and moving. It's great to see how much they appreciate everyone and this show tops it off! After this we went to the Broadway Show Lounge to watch Seven Sins of Rock which was another great show. We were so impressed with the show cast, especially because this was only their second week on board and the first time they had done this show.

We cut through the Live Rooms on the way to the atrium and saw some of the bar staff doing tricks with the cocktail shakers, bottles and pouring a rainbow of drinks! We listened to some of the music in the Live Rooms which again was fantastic and such a good atmosphere, everyone showcasing their talents! We had a final drink at the atrium bar and then made our way back to the cabin to put our cases out ready for tomorrow. We can't wait to share more of the #cruisevlogs with you!
