So! after many years of knowing one existed, over 30 years later someone got in touch with me saying that they have an old video of the last night at The Leeds Gallery, voted in 1992 as the 2nd best club event in Europe, second only to the Hacienda in Manchester
Eventually I was handed the recording from Tracy Homer a friend on Facebook, and Lo and Behold it was the missing recording.
I asked on Facebook if anyone could help with the editing, and very kindly another facebook friend Sara Whyman volunteered, and after a lot of hard work she managed to edit the recording down.
The quality isn't good and the sound is even worse, but the atmosphere of the club that changed many lives is there in spades.
Thank you to everyone that contributed the making the club what it was, THE BEST.
I had considered the idea of putting another soundtrack over the video instead of the one that it there, but I came to the decision not to, as that is part of the magic.
Thank you to Tracey and Sara for making this possible.
Enjoy, laugh, cry, but just revel in the brilliant memories.
