Bardiya National Park is Nepal’s largest lowland protected area, situated in the western Terai region. It is known for its rich grasslands, sal forests, and rivers, and is home to Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinos, elephants, gharials, and a diverse birdlife.
It was established in 1976 as the Royal Bardia Wildlife Reserve and upgraded in 1988 as Bardiya National Park.
