Flat Map vs. Globe

Описание: Comparing the difference between a flat map of Earth, and a globe with the same map applied. I created the bitmapped image for the flat map and the globe by overlaying an Equirectangular projection map with named places and countries over one of NASA's Blue Marble whole world images. Both images have the North Pole as the top edge of the image and the South Pole as the bottom edge of the image. NASA realized that these Blue Marble 1:2 aspect ratio images map perfectly onto a 3D sphere object.
