The Clinch Knot is a classic and versatile fly fishing knot, perfect for beginners, and it can be made even easier with the use of a pair of hemostats!
This knot is most commonly used for attaching flies to tippet, but it can also be used for attaching a dropper fly to the hook of an attractor or top water fly.
This knot is also good for Tenkara anglers and can be used to connect tippet to a Tenkara fly line. Simply add a Stop Knot to the end of the Tenkara line and attach the tippet by way of a Clinch Knot above the Stop.
Remember, always wet your connections before tightening!
