There was a major uproar in the Lok Sabha over remarks made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. On Monday, he cited former Army Chief Manoj Naravane while claiming that Chinese military tanks were positioned near the Indian border in the Doklam region. Rahul Gandhi said this information was mentioned in a book. However, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh strongly objected to the claim and raised questions over it. He asked Rahul Gandhi to clarify whether the book being referred to had actually been published or not. The Defence Minister stated that discussions in the House cannot be based on a book whose existence itself is uncertain. Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his objection to Rahul Gandhi’s statement.
