HIGH SIERRA®’s solid metal trickle valve makes it easy to pause the flow of water during your shower without adjusting the hot/cold mixing valve. It can also be used to slightly reduce water pressure for a gentler showering experience.
When closed, the trickle valve allows a small, continuous trickle of water – IT IS NOT A SHUT-OFF VALVE. This controlled trickle is required by plumbing codes to prevent scalding when the hot/cold water valve is reopened, and to remind users that the mixing valve remains active. Leaving water pipes, fittings, and hoses pressurized after the shower can lead to leaks; the trickle feature helps avoid that by reminding the user to close the mixing valve. Designed by an engineer who specializes in hydraulic performance, this valve offers a large internal water passage to minimize pressure loss, and a smooth push-button mechanism that’s easy to open and close.
