🇵🇹🛡️✈️ Impressive military catch at Lisbon Airport (LPPT)! The Portuguese
Air Force Embraer KC-390 Millennium landing, spending about an hour on the ground,
and then departing with full power, all captured on camera!

The KC-390 Millennium is one of the most capable and technologically advanced
military transport aircraft in the world today, and Portugal has the distinction of
being the FIRST European country to operate it. Operated by Esquadra 506
"Rinocerontes" (Rhinos) from Beja Air Base (BA11), Portugal's KC-390 fleet is at
the heart of the country's strategic airlift and NATO commitments.

This aircraft is no ordinary military transport. The KC-390 can carry up to
26 tonnes of cargo, perform aerial refueling, execute paradrop missions,
conduct medevac operations and respond to humanitarian emergencies all at
jet speed. It replaces the legendary C-130 Hercules and does so in style.

And Portugal's commitment to this platform keeps growing: in September 2025,
Portugal signed for a SIXTH KC-390, and also opened 10 purchase options
for NATO allies cementing Lisbon as the European hub for this program.
Hungary, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Sweden and Lithuania have all
now joined Portugal as KC-390 operators or customers.
