Strutter is another excellent punk group from Austin, TX featuring dudes from the usual Texan crew that are in bands like Impalers, Vaaska, Blotter, and many others. This 7" is their debut vinyl release on Beach Impediment Records. Not unlike other Austin punk bands like Glue, Strutter have this bouncy pogo style backbeat, a snotty attitude, along with some groovy riffs. The frontman Juan Carlos in particular has this snarling vocal style that carries the whole band. One thing that makes Strutter stand out though are the guitars going back and forth between the main riff and these melodic, almost psychedelic interludes, which makes the artwork seem rather fitting. Not surprisingly, this EP is a ripper.
