Mbale Schools Band 2023 mix

Описание: 2023 has been a very successful year for the band as we continue our renewal and recovery from the challenges we faced during the Covid pandemic and our loss of so many accomplished players when schools were closed for almost two years. But our young learners improve every month and we estimate we are now at 75% of where we were when we were at our peak in 2019 when we performed our first concert at the National Theatre in Kampala. We are on track to reach a similar standard by 2025.
We are more than just a band. At the beginning of the year we supported seven players to successfully pass their Primary Leaving Exams (PLE), five players to pass their O levels at S4, and four to pass their A levels at S6. One girls has just completed her exams to achieve a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, and our principal Trombonist will begin the third year of her degree studies in Febuary at Uganda Christian University (UCU).
Alongside this educational support we remain the most popular brass band in the world on Facebook and this year we have added another 15K followers to our page to currently stand at 93K in total with 79K page likes.
But we don’t play music to earn praise on social media or increase our numbers.
We play for the enjoyment of our players and for them to understand that if they work hard at their music as Africans they can also achieve great things like the youth of any other country.
We also like to show the world that Ugandan youth have talent and that, in our own small way, young Muslims and Christians can create music together in peace and harmony and to promote female equality. What an example Uganda sets to the world in this regard!
