Описание: A one off job this one to fill in a historical well that had been uncovered during a building project. The well had been outside in the early days. Later, possibly during the 1800's the building was extended so the well was then inside the house, a very rare thing back then to have a personal water supply. The top several feet of the well was made with loose bricks overlapped to keep the circle, no mortar or anything holding them together. The man in charge believes they had to raise the well top up when the ground level was raised to add the extension. The well was around 40 feet deep, still with several feet of water in it. It was being filled in so building work could continue, albeit with a reinforced concrete section over the well for the new building foundations. It was thought that this well could date back to the 16th century.
