The meeting between the families of the disappeared and the Office of Missing Persons (OMP) delegation took place on Saturday, 2 June in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province town of Mullaithivu. OMP Chairman Saliya Pieris and his interlocutors did their utmost to persuade the families of the disappeared to engage with the OMP rather than boycott it. At the meeting, the victims laid out the groups’ demands and imposed minimum conditions, for the Office to win their trust.
