“When you talk to someone who understands what you’ve gone through it means such a lot.”
Alison was run over when she was walking home from the shops, causing a multitude of injuries, including an injury to her left leg that required amputation.
Her multidisciplinary team included:
• A case manager
• Physiotherapist
• Occupational therapist
• Prosthetist
• Dietician.
Alison was also supported by STEPS Rehabilitation. After being told she’d never walk again, Alison proved everyone wrong and has tried a multitude of activities including adapted surfing.
She talked about the importance of setting new goals and always looking for the next one.
