Thanks to one viewer who has tracked down the exact date of this set to August 20, 1989. It was one of my first visits to the Mid-State Fair after relocating to the area and just happened for these amazing Bill Monroe shows (see the evening set also). And got to have dinner at a picnic table near the stage are with Bill Monroe himself between shows with BBQ from one of the fair's best rib and tri-tip vendors. All together a memorable day and one of my first outings with a video camera. Glad I captured these shows on video and that the tapes held up over 20 years until I got them transferred to digital form.
