Note-taking (sometimes written as notetaking or note taking) is the practice of recording information from different sources and platforms. By taking notes, the writer records the essence of the information, freeing their mind from having to recall everything.
Note-making is a way of writing down important information in a short and clear form so you can understand and remember it better later. It helps you learn faster, revise easily, and save time.
Importance of Note-making (in simple words):
1. Saves time: You don’t have to read everything again.
2. Easy to remember: Helps you learn quickly and better.
3. Clear understanding: You write in your own words, so you understand the topic well.
4. Useful for revision: Helpful during exams or when you need a quick recap.
5. Improves focus: You pay more attention when you make notes.
Methods of Note-making (easy language):
1. Outline Method:
Write main points first.
Under them, write sub-points.
Example:
1. Causes of Pollution
a. Air pollution
b. Water pollution
2. Bullet Points:
Use dots (•) or dashes (–) to list important things.
Easy to read and quick to write.
• Helps in memory
• Saves study time
3. Mind Mapping:
Write the main topic in the center.
Draw branches for related ideas.
Good for visual learners.
4. Table Method:
Make a table to compare things. | Animal | Habitat | Food | |----------|----------|----------| | Lion | Jungle | Meat | | Cow | Farm | Grass |
5. Flowchart Method:
Show steps or a process using arrows.
