Sneak preview: Mai-Kai opens new passageway between Tiki gardens (April 2025)

We were among the first to explore the new walking path that opened April 24, allowing guests to access the newly refurbished indoor gardens under the main A-frame from the new deck outside the Molokai Bar. The new walkway connects to the existing steps and corridor, closed since 2020, that lead to the rear gardens.
This new route allows guests in both the Molokai and Bora Bora bars to access the rear gardens without walking through the dining rooms. You can also easily walk from the gardens to the bars. Scooters, wheelchairs and guests with special needs must still use the main dining room thoroughfare. The Samoa Room and path behind the stage remain closed for now.
Note: This new walkway is subject to closing during dinner show performances, special events, and at the restaurant's discretion. It should be fully open in late April or early May.
The Mai-Kai is a South Seas paradise, established in 1956 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and reimagined during a multi-year, $20 million restoration. It returned in all its glory in November 2024 and is open daily. The grounds include vintage carvings and water features that date back to the early days of the restaurant..
