85 years ago at Chicon, the 2nd Worldcon in 1940, a female costume maker known by the alias Morojo opened up her room, 689 in the Hotel Chicagoan, as a changing room for the first Costume Masquerade. Morojo’s room would be considered the first Con Suite and Cosplay Lounge. Decades later these elements would evolve into the Headless Lounge and Fursuit Parade at the first furry cons.
Join us for a 85 year long journey from the first fan conventions to the modern cons to today, and show how we are all part of one larger fandom family.
Panel first presented at Anthrocon on July 5, 2025, and last presented at Midwest Furfest on Dec 6, 2025.
