Cat Introduction Gone Wrong: Solutions That Work!

If you have a cat introduction not going well, it can be incredibly stressful and it's hard to find what to do to get it back on track. Some of the common suggestions out there, including introducing cats in carriers/kennels/any similar item, letting the cats fight it out, and even feeding the cats near each other, may make things worse. It's better to try other methods such as training, playing, or slowing down the process.

In some cases, adjusting your thinking is the solution. If you expect your new cat and your resident cat to get along instantly, you're more likely to make mistakes. While it's always nice when cats get along immediately, introducing cats correctly can take weeks or months.
