California Democrats push immigration bills limiting ICE activity

Описание: California Democrats advanced a broad slate of immigration-related legislation this week as part of the state’s ongoing opposition to nationwide immigration enforcement. Lawmakers have proposed at least a dozen bills aimed at limiting the role of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in daily life across California. The proposals include restricting ICE’s use of hotels, warehouses, parking lots, rental cars, and state property, as well as increasing oversight of federal immigration agents. One bill, Senator Scott Wiener’s “No Kings Act,” has passed the Senate along party lines and now heads to the Assembly.
