In today’s Saint Story for Kids, we learn about Saint Fabian, a humble man who became pope in a truly surprising way — and later gave his life for Jesus.
Saint Fabian was elected pope in the year 236 when, according to tradition, a dove landed on his head, showing God’s choice. As pope, he cared deeply for the Church in Rome, organising communities and strengthening Christians during difficult times. During persecution, Saint Fabian remained faithful to Christ and became a martyr, dying in the year 250.
In this episode, children will learn:
Who Saint Fabian was
How God chose him to be pope
What it means to be a martyr
Why faithfulness to Jesus matters, even when it is hard
Saint Fabian’s story gently teaches kids that God can call ordinary people to do extraordinary things — and that courage and faith go hand in hand.
