The show’s most loved character, ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam, has always been the main face of the series. He, along with Inspector Daya (Dayanand Shetty) and Inspector Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava), solved hundreds of thrilling cases together.

But on 5th April 2025, fans got a big shock — ACP Pradyuman’s character was killed in the show. He was murdered by Barbosa, a long-time enemy played by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

This sudden twist has made viewers emotional and nostalgic. For many, ACP Pradyuman’s exit feels like the end of an era, especially those who grew up watching his powerful dialogues like “Daya, darwaza tod do” and “Kuchh toh gadbad hai.”

SonyTV even posted a tribute to him saying, “In the loving memory of ACP Pradyuman. A loss that will never be forgotten.” But the post upset fans so much that it was later deleted. However, by then, the damage was already done — fans were already heartbroken and angry.

Many users on social media trolled the channel for the “clickbait” post, saying it looked like the actor himself had passed away. Some people even criticized the marketing team, calling it a bad way of promoting the show.
Even Shivaji Satam himself said in an interview that he had no idea about his character being killed. He shared, “I have taken a break for now, and the makers know what’s coming next. If my track is over, I’m okay with it. But no one told me clearly.”

Now, actor Parth Samthaan is set to join the show as the new ACP, which has made fans even more emotional.

With so many strong reactions online, the makers of CID will wait and watch the audience’s response before making further plans.
