Israel is threatening to demolish a popular West Bank youth football pitch

Описание: Palestinian youth from Bethlehem’s Aida refugee camp say they are devastated by Israel’s order to close a popular football pitch built in 2021 on land owned by the Armenian Church, beside the West Bank separation wall.

The artificial-grass field—one of the camp’s few recreational outlets—serves hundreds of boys and girls aged six to 19, including several who have played for Palestine’s youth national teams.

Residents say Israeli soldiers arrived early one morning two weeks ago to post a notice halting all activity at the site and warning that the pitch, along with a nearby theatre and garden, could be demolished for lacking the required Israeli permits.
