Kicco, a ghost town near Lake Wales, Florida, began as the company town of the Kissimmee Island Cattle Company (KICCO) from 1915 to the late 1920s, featuring a full settlement including homes, a company store, and a steamboat landing. The company, which contributed to Florida's cattle industry and river trade, eventually moved, leaving the town to decay. Today, the site of the former town is a conservation and recreation area known as KICCO Wildlife Management Area, which provides a glimpse of "Old Florida" with opportunities for camping, hiking, and fishing along the Kissimmee River. My first full day there the host came out to the campsite. Told me to leash my dog and generators are not allowed. Now when I go in the backwoods I have a generator to charge my batteries 2hrs. in the morning and set for 24 hrs. Long story short that's how I look for places to camp, if they allow generators and the permit you get reads right on it generators are allowed unless posted. So Youtubers, all 2 of you lol read the rules before you go. Don't let the big white Bull scare you in the middle of the night either. Dog wanted to hide because it was so big. I say it was almost as big as my pick up and snorting and stomped, woke me up, wished I had my phone. When we were leaving I saw it laying down in the bushes.
