CRS Inspects Katra-Reasi Rail Section, Visits Anji Khad Bridge

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (Northern Circle), Dinesh Chand Deshwal, began a two-day statutory inspection of the recently completed Katra-Reasi section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project on 7th January, 2025. This inspection follows the announcement by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw last month that the Reasi-Katra section has been completed, marking a significant milestone in connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country after nearly three decades of extensive work. During the inspection, CRS Deshwal also visited the Anji Khad bridge in Reasi district, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge, a critical component of the rail link.
