Climbing Honeysuckle. Today I’m planting a Lonicera Serotina up a trellis on a very tall brick wall. This beautiful twining plant is very tough and will grow almost anywhere and flower for many months. It produces whorls of flowers that are reddish purple on the outside and creamy white on the inside. Renowned for their sweet, spicy fragrance they can spread up to 20ft tall and 6ft wide. They tolerate all soil conditions as long as you don’t allow it to dry out. I’ve underplanted with my favourite Impatiens New Guinea (Busy Lizzies) and some Petunia Surfinia and look forward to a stunning display for many months to come.
