His cutting-edge designs include the unique Broadgate Exchange House in London—which is both a building and a bridge that spans over the Liverpool Street Station—and the cable-supported entry pavilion for the General Motors Headquarters in Detroit. He has been the recipient of numerous awards from around the globe including the Gold Medal from IStructE, the (ASCE) OPEL Lifetime Award for Design; the Fazlur Rahman Khan Medal from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat and many many more.
