Описание: Glimpses of India: Not very far from the famous Qutb Minar, the Alai Minar is an unfinished tower in the Qutb Complex, Delhi, construction of which was started by Alauddin Khilji, Sultan of Delhi (1296-1316). After Khilji had doubled the size of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, he decided to constructed a tower which would be twice the height of the Qutb Minar. He had conceived Alai Minar to be double the height of Qutb Minar. However, the construction of the Alai Minar came to a halt in 1316 following the death of Alauddin Khilji when only the first storey was about to be completed. Alai Minar is a circular monument made of red rubble which is 25 meters tall. This video shows both Qutb Minar and Alai Minar in the same frame.
