Imprisoned and tortured by the Sith on Stygeon Prime, Mandalorian super commandos rescued Maul and returned the Darksaber. Executing Mother Talzin’s plan for revenge against the Sith, Maul captured Count Dooku, hoping to lure Darth Sidious into the open. In the Republic, Chancellor Palpatine encouraged the Jedi Council to send a team to apprehend their adversaries. As the Jedi launched their attack, an unexpected alliance formed between Dooku and Maul and they fled to Dathomir, pursued by Sidious and General Grievous. All of these events had been masterfully designed by Sidious to eliminate Mother Talzin and the Nightsister threat to his future Empire. And as Sidious and Talzin clashed, Grievous dealt a fatal blow to the dark witch. Seventeen years later, the Darksaber was among Maul’s stored secrets when he arrived on Dathomir with Ezra Bridger.
