Here's our cover of “Tretur” by the extraordinary Danish trio @dreamerscircus
“Tretur” is a tune that feels both ancient and immediate; rhythmically alive, melodically driving, and rooted in the Scandinavian folk tradition. This is a live cover based on Dreamer's Circus' early version of the song. Bringing in the Hardanger violin makes the song feel even more raw.
Ellie, our fiddle player is a Danish citizen and has met the Dreamer's Circus members on a few occasions. She studies Scandinavian music extensively and plays in a Scandinavian group called Skógafoss along with Emily, the accordion player.
