I Rode With Avanti West Coast on the Settle to Carlisle Line!

Matt went to Crewe (poor him) to get an Avanti West Coast train to Carlisle, which, due to engineering works around the Penrith area, means that it was diverted along the extremely stunning Settle to Carlisle line.
The Avanti West Coast service arrived into Preston then reversed out, along the East Lancashire line and a usually freight only line to join the Settle and Carlisle Line at Hellifield, and then took in all the sights along one of the UK's best lines.
Highlights include:
Seeing the Avanti West Coast Evero arrive at Crewe
The views of the frost covered fields and snow topped peaks
Stations such as Hellifield and the Ribblehead Viaduct
This was most certainly a once in a lifetime experience!
