This is the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, model number 116500LN

The outer presentation box is simple with a large Rolex logo embossed onto the top. Inside you will find the instruction book with a two-tone green cover.

The inner box is compact yet stunning with a green leather finish and rolling wave effect. The top also features a small gold coloured Rolex logo. The interior has a cream finish and the guarantee card is neatly stored away in a compartment in the lid.
The original Cosmograph Daytona was designed for racing drivers and originally introduced in 1963.

It’s chronograph and bezel with tachymetric scale allowed drivers to track their average speeds up to 400 miles per hour.
The black face has three chronograph dials and simple hour markers with blue luminescence
There is a black ceramic bezel with engraved tachymeter scale which is scratch proof, corrosion-proof and fade-proof.
The face of the watch is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

The Oyster case was first introduced by Rolex in 1926 and was the world's first waterproof case for a wristwatch. It is waterproof to 100m which makes it suitable for showering and swimming but not as a dive watch.
On the side you will find the winding crown, bearing the Rolex logo, and two push buttons to control the chronograph.
The case is made from 904L stainless steel, which is often used in aerospace industries due to its resistance to corrosion. This material helps the watch to maintain its look and polish though harsh environments.

At the heart of this watch is the calibre 4130: a perpetual, mechanical chronograph, self-winding movement built entirely by Rolex
The robust and comfortable metal bracelet is also made from 904L stainless steel and is fastened with a Folding Oysterlock safety clasp. 
When you turn the watch over you will see the iconic screw-down case back with its characteristic fluting, which is the way it has been since the original Daytona.

On the wrist, it is 40mm, making it easy for most people to wear comfortably.

The Daytona has been a staple watch for Rolex for many years and is a great example of Rolex’s dedication to solid functionality and timeless design.
