Philippines Hit by Super Typhoon, Uwan Engulfs Villages In One Of The Deadliest Storms Of The Year

Описание: Entire coastal communities in Aurora province, Philippines, are struggling to recover after Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong) tore through the region, flattening homes, uprooting trees, and triggering landslides that cut off major roads.

Footage from Dinadiawan village in Dipaculao shows scenes of total devastation: beach houses reduced to rubble, residents sifting through debris, and families building makeshift shelters from scraps of wood and metal.

Residents like Josefa Taberna and Jerwin Inggasa shared their heartbreak, describing how massive waves swept away homes and livelihoods in seconds.
Village chairman Ramon Lasala said, “The waves were like a tsunami — even houses far from the coast were washed out.”

The storm killed at least 27 people and prompted mass evacuations of over one million residents, just days after Typhoon Kalmaegi devastated central regions.
