Former MLA Babu Kavlekar took a swipe at sitting MLA Altone D’Costa, claiming that the development works being inaugurated at present were sanctioned during his tenure as an MLA.
Kavlekar said that although the projects had received approvals earlier, they could not be taken forward at the time due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the delay should not erase the role played by the previous leadership in initiating the works.
The former MLA also expressed confidence about the future, stating that he is optimistic of returning to power in the 2027 Assembly elections.
