Vladimir Putin began his fifth term Tuesday as Russian president at a glittering Kremlin inauguration.
After the ceremony, Putin greeted the presidential regiment on the Sobornaya Square of the Kremlin and attended a church service to mark the inauguration in the Cathedral of Annunciation led by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All-Russia.
The Patriarch wished Putin to lead the country with dignity during a tough period in its history.
