UH at CSUN: 'Bows Stumble Badly, 84-60! UH Can't Afford Games Like That Anymore!

The University of Hawaiʻi Men's Basketball team never got on track and came away the losers at the Premier America Credit Union Arena, 84-60, on Saturday! Fortunately, UH still remains tied at the top of the standings at 10-4 with UC Irvine after Cal Poly beat UC Santa Barbara earlier this week.

Isaac Finlinson was the only Rainbow Warrior to crack double-digits, as he ended the game with 13 points to lead UH.

Larry Hughes II led the Matadors with 27 points with 22 coming in the first half alone! He was also 5-for-6 from 3-point range and a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line. Josiah Davis added 20 points on 9-for-15 shooting. Jai Chisolm had 14 points off the bench.

CSUN shot out to an early 10-2 lead right out of the gates! Hughes hit four triples in the first half alone to give the Matadors a double-digit lead early.

UH found a rhythm and went on an 8-0 run to cut the gap to two, 15-13; unfortunately, CSUN was just too much.

At halftime, Northridge took a healthy lead, 40-28. For UH, Isaac Johnson led UH in scoring with just seven points.

The second half got no better for the 'Bows. Despite scoring five points early, CSUN shut them down with a 20-5 run and never looked back.

In total, UH shot just 36% and committed 18 turnovers to CSUN's 12 and suffered their third straight road loss at CSUN.

UH drops to 18-6 overall! The 'Bows will come home for two games at the Stan Sheriff Center beginning with Cal Poly on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. HST. After that is a nationally televised game against UC Santa Barbara at 5 p.m. HST which will feature the jersey retirement of former Rainbow Warrior Anthony Carter.
