Bokeh is something you'll hear all the time as a landscape photographer, but what does it mean?
When you pick a focus point in your image, anything in the frame closer or further than that focus point will not be in perfect focus. The wider the aperture, and the further the distance from the subject and foreground/background, the more blur you'll experience. The quality of the blur you can see is referred to as bokeh.
Most types of photography (outside of landscapes) use bokeh frequently to help separate the subject from the background. Remember that bokeh doesn't describe the blur itself or the amount of blur, but instead it is the quality of the blur.
