Описание: This single ragtime album, Knuckles O' Toole plays the Greatest All-Time RAGTIME Hits, is arguably the most successful ragtime LP and reel-to-reel tape sold between 1958 and the early 1970s. It is pure Dick Hyman at his joyful best during that heady time when honky-tonk and ragtime had not yet faded from view in the face of rock and roll and other musical pursuits, but perhaps the peak from which the only way to go was down until the second ragtime revival of the 1970s. Not only was it in brilliant stereophonic sound in the freshman year of stereo LPs, but it had the best continuity and flow of all of the Knuckles O'Toole albums to date. It was the last original release of O'Toole (Hyman) at the distressingly-tuned piano, with subsequent albums being remixes or re-releases, other than the two Sing-A-Song with Knuckles O'Toole that would follow, but with a different pianist. Two more pieces have been added to the original fifteen, given the possibility that they were also recorded with the intent of making the cut on this album (they ended up on Volume 4 of Honky-Tonk Piano). The usual commentary and imagery is included, still at no charge, along with a couple of things I know that most of even experienced ragtime players or O'Toole fans have not seen.
