Описание: Lauren Gunderson's play Silent Sky is inspired by a the true story of Henrietta Leavitt. Henrietta and her colleagues at the Harvard Observatory were hired as "human computers" to count the stars in the early 1900s. They faced sexism that is still relevant today, as illustrated by KU Physics & Astronomy Professor Allison Kirkpatrick. Here is an excerpt of Prof. Kirkpatrick's presentation to the KU students cast in roles for the University Theatre's production of Silent Sky. Silent Sky plays Oct. 3-5, 2025 in the Crafton-Preyer Theatre at Murphy Hall. It is directed by KU prof. Michelle Miller.
