Wilderness Journeys in the Pacific Northwest never cease to amaze!
Today I purposed to go on a peaceful winter nature walk rather than a strenuous hike. I've passed by this Oxbow Lake loop trail many times. I guess I was saving it for a day where I needed to regroup (reset) and remind myself of why I enjoy being out in nature.
This is a very pleasant trail any season of the year. The thin layer of ice on the lake made the views look like an oil painting.
The lake, river and mountain views were spectacular!
Parked just off the Middle Fork Road in the small lot just after the main Oxbow Lake trailhead. Followed a connector to the loop trail. I also took many excursions off the loop trail to the river and to get a closer look at the lake.
At the end of this video there are a few clips of the river from the Middle Fork trailhead.
