ENDOGENIC PROCESSES are geological processes that occur beneath the surface of the Earth
The ground we live on is moving all the time. The forces within the earth that cause the ground to move called ENDOGENIC FORCES.


HOW THE ENDOGENIC WORKS?
When the ground moves, rock layers at the surface of the earth are broken, twisted, and shaken.


WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF ENDOGENIC PROCESSES
A. FOLDING
When two forces push towards each other from opposite sides, the rock layers will bend into folds.
The processes by which folds are formed are due to compressional forces known as FOLDING.
Folding of rock layers is because of stress.
STRESS – defined as the force that could create deformation on rocks in their shape and volume.
KINDS OF STRESS:
1. TENSIONAL STRESS (STRETCHING) – it is when rock is stretched part or pulled apart.
2. COMPRESSIONAL STRESS (SQUEEZING) – when rock is squeezed, pressed, or pushed together.
3. SHEAR STRESS (SHEARING) rock is being pulled in the opposite direction
B. FAULTING
FAULTS – are extremely long and deep break or large crack.
A process of forming faults is called FAULTING.
The line of fault which appears on land surface is called Fault Line.
1. NORMAL FAULT – occur where two blocks of rock are pulled apart, as by tension.
2. REVERSE FAULT – occur when brittle rocks are pushed.
3. STRIKE SLIP FAULT – occur when brittle rocks are sheared and the movement of blocks is chiefly horizontal direction.
C. VOLCANO
A vent that connects molten rock (magma) from within the Earth’s crust to the Earth's surface. The volcano includes the surrounding cone of erupted material.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION – is when the pressure of the magma inside becomes so great that it blows open the solid surface of the volcano.
