Day 3 of epic 5-day road trip takes us from Athirappilly to Valparai via Chalakudy.
On Day 3, we leave the waterfalls of Athirappilly behind and head into the deep woods. This stretch via Chalakudy is often called the "Green Tunnel" of South India, and for good reason!
The drive from the Vazhachal forest checkpost to Malakkappara is one of the most secluded and pristine forest routes you can experience. It’s just us, the winding roads, and the sounds of the Western Ghats. Once we cross into Tamil Nadu, the dense jungle suddenly opens up into the stunning, rolling tea carpets of Valparai.
