Large scale, high grade: Filo CEO Jamie Beck envisions up to 70 years of production at Filo del Sol

Описание: Filo Corp. (TSX:FIL) continues to deliver high-quality results from its Filo del Sol project, stirring the imagination of what a potential mine could look like, says President & CEO Jamie Beck.

In February Beck spoke to Kitco Mining at the BMO Global Metals, Mining & Critical Minerals Conference 2024 in Hollywood, Florida.

The project, which straddles the border between Argentina and Chile, is a high-sulphidation epithermal copper-gold-silver deposit associated with a large porphyry copper-gold system.

Recent drilling extended the Aurora Zone 200 metres to the northwest. West of current drilling, hole FSDH100 intersected 631.3 meters at 0.68% copper-equivalent, including 20 metres @ 95.8 grams per tonne silver.

“It has the potential to convert mineralization that would be previously considered as waste, and maybe start thinking of bringing it into a plan. So really impactful,” Beck said of hole 100.

Filo’s 2024 exploration involves nine rigs drilling 40-50,000 metres. Half of those metres will be focused on step-outs from the Aurora Zone. New exploration targets are also in the drilling cue.

Beck said “there's a volume of material that's about 6 km cubed, that we believe is continuously mineralized from Tamborias in the south through our Bonita Zone in the north, so we're going to work at tightening up the drill spacing and stepping out through that zone and make sure that we can prove that continuous mineralization theme.”

Asked about NGEx Minerals’ (TSX:NGEX) success at its neighbouring project, Lunahuasi, Beck said it bodes well for the district, but he sees the project as smaller scale.

“Filo remains that key asset within the district that has the potential for 50, 60, 70 years of production,” he said. “It has that size and that scale in addition to the grade which really drives being able to weather the ups and downs of commodity cycles over time.”
