This is how I restring my YoSDs!
(FYI: you can use craft forceps to hold the elastics, if your fingers aren't strong enough to clamp on the elastics.)
This video features my Volks Yo Super Dollfie "Syo" on a Swaricco body, but it can also be used as general reference for stringing Ball-Joint Dolls (BJDs or ABJDs). Most ball-joint dolls use a similar core structure, though individual artists and doll-makers may have additional joint pieces or use different wrist/ankle designs.
It's important to know how to restring your dolls, as assembly and disassembly is a part of regular maintenance in the BJD hobby.
Dolls should be disassembled when being washed/cleaned to prevent mildew from growing on damp elastics inside the doll's pieces. When elastics lose their elasticity due to age or moisture exposure, they should be replaced with new elastics. BJDs are also at less risk of damage during shipping, if they are not strung.
Don't be afraid of restringing your dolls; it IS a bit finicky, but it's NOT difficult! :)
