The spruce trees used for this tiny cabin were grown near Shap, it was built near Penrith, and it was erected on the shores of Ullswater, all within 20 miles of each other in Cumbria, England, in 2024.
I previously worked as a log builder in Canada for two years, where I gained the skills used here.
The cabin took a month to build and install. The film was cut from 3.5 hours of footage. Some days I did not film at all, but the log building process is mostly repetitive, so hopefully the essence of it has been captured.
Building with power tools is noisy. I have kept this noise in the edit to show the contrast between the very calm parts and the very loud parts of modern log building. There is no commentary, so if the screeching is too much, you can watch on mute without missing out.
The film is not monetised, and I will not be doing anything to seek comments, likes or subscribers. I hope you find it interesting. That's all.
