And now the arc thrower, and specifically on voteless... fine, back to Valmox I go!

Helldiver Cadet KodeX Journal Day 24
Day 24 on the SES Halo of the Stars. I could start with another rant about how dodgy today's personal order is, but at the same time, this one is worse, so while I won't, just know, that I want to.
So, considering the extremely stupid nature of the personal order, I drop back to Valmox, and take a recon intel mission, this is because around the black box, there's usually a hella lot of voteless. Now here's the thing. The arc thrower probably isn't that bad of a weapon once you get used to it, but as someone who prefers to not be 3ft from an enemy at any given time just for maximum effect, it's just really annoying to "have" to use it is all.
I land near a POI and take out the overseer and voteless, honestly? I can already tell this mission is going to be a pain in the ass, it just takes so much longer than usual to take out even small hordes of enemies. After clearing another POI, I take to the first encampment, after all, if this thing is even half decent, odds are, I'll complete the personal order by the end of the mission regardless. I wind up and throw the trusty laser to take the base out, only for it to instead target one ship, and then an elevated overseer, and then every voteless between the base and me... fan-tucking-fastic. Traitorous laser goddamnit. So now I have to go in and take out the remaining ships. As I'm running round the side to take out another, I throw a railcannon strike, which I'm pretty sure is meant to target the largest nearby enemy, which normally means fabricators and warpships, however, it decided to target a lone "crescent" overseer (stupid undemocratic name if you ask me), meaning now I don't have a laser, nor the railcannon, and have to use my shotgun to take down the overshields. Whatever, base cleared moving on. At least some voteless come out to greet me afterwards towards the order.
10 minutes in and I'm 65 deep, only... 185 to go! I run across a SEAF artillery, which turns out to be a good one - just a shame I didn't get to use it all... mini nuke, double high yield double napalm is huge on illuminate! Moving on from there, I plan to rush the cognitive disruptor, but get a bit overwhelmed by a very large number of enemies. Not voteless really, but the elevated overseers. Someone really gave these guys shooting and avoiding lessons because they are far more accurate and far more evasive than they used to be, I'm absolutely certain (just like how they increased the range of the lightning towers).
Once the jammer is down, I run for the nearby base, taking it down with a laser, and one more not far off that for some reason the laser didn't chase to. With the black box in hand, but no stims to speak of, I run like frick for a bit out of the city to call in a resupply while I wait for all the voteless, I'm currently on 211 of 250, so not much more to go, just that I spend so long paying attention to what was right in front of me, that I get surrounded, and end up dying with very few left. I run around in circles a bit to draw them away from my loot, and then drop a laser, run back into the city, where there's a nice comfortable MG-43 waiting for me instead of that arc thrower. After this there's only one ship left, so I figure since I'm in the neighbourhood... yeah down it goes...
And with 10 minutes left on the clock, it's time to leg it across the map with the black box for the communications relay main objective site. I drop the mini nuke from the SEAF onto it before entering to make sure that I'm unassailed, because honestly? Having every mission come down to "and then I extracted on the emergency shuttle" is kinda lame. While I'm raising the tower, my radar picks up a small patrol, so I toss a high yield from the SEAF onto them, input the code, and then run for extract, since once the black box data is uploading, there's literally no reason to stick around. I arrive on extract just before the terminal lands, call it in, fight a bit, and then leave without any issue.
KodeX's notes: Senator is dogshit on Illuminate. the heavy armour pen doesn't mean a damn thing from everything I've observed. Also, arc thrower is also pointless on Illuminate. Once that shield goes up, you can't touch them apparently.
