Wild born Silva had a tantrum when his mother, Sheila, left him in the trees to eat at the feeding platform.
Additional fruit is provided to assist the reintroduced orangutans when the forest is in short supply. Sheila was reintroduced into Lamandau Wildlife Reserve in 2004 and has since given birth to four offspring.🥭
Silva is almost three-years-old, so is capable of climbing down to his mother, but he makes it clear he is not happy being left alone. It appears Sheila remains uninterested, and stays focused on eating fruit.🌳
A surprising turn of events occurs when his nine-year-old older brother, Sony, comes to Silva’s aid. We have not seen siblings attend to their younger siblings in this way before. 🌿
