Investigating the tragedy that has befallen the emerging generation of Muslims: technology and social media. It has become very uncommon to hear of an individual who is completely disconnected from the social realm, which is now comprised of so many different outlets. Many of our youth and adults alike have fallen into the devil’s traps, popularly known as social media such as Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Where do we draw the line between halal consumption of technology and the point at which it may develop into an obsession for attention that transgresses against the boundaries set forth by Islam?
