1: Do you start with a small RV or jump right into your dream size RV?
Know your driving abilities and be honest with yourself and your spouse. A lot to consider when heading out on the open road with mother nature and other people driving and texting.
Have you ever hauled a trailer with weight?
Have you driven a bus?
Better to start small and work up to a larger RV, gaining experience each time you’re out enjoying your journey.
Safety is your number 1 priority.
2: Which comes first the chicken or the egg? Do you get the RV or Truck first?
Do you know what size vehicle you need?
What size RV are you deciding on?
An extra 3-4 feet in length adds a lot of extra weight.
Choose the RV you are comfortable with, then choose the vehicle that’s needed for that particular RV.
3: Dream size VS Reality size
SIZE = MORE AMENITIES
We will always have 3–4-foot envy.
Do you NEED it, or do you WANT it? That’s the tough question.
Do you know if you like camping?
We encourage you to minimalize your investment, cost, and risk by starting with a size that fits your abilities and needs, when you are 1st starting out. See if you like the adventure. As you know, its not about the destination, its all about the journey. Finding the safe RV for you and your family, is all part of the journey.
4: Does size matter? Length of trailer? Size of tires? Spread axles? All options to consider, and it all comes down to safety.
5: BUDGET! Know what you want to afford, not what you can afford!
Many RVer’s trade in & upgrade after a few years, and you most likely will do the same.
6: Have you considered renting an RV. Try out the lifestyle. Test your abilities, before you choose what you think will work. There are many sites available I’ll link a few down below.
