I Try Filipino Food For The First Time! Lumpiang Shanghai, KARE KARE, Leche Flan 👌❤️😊

Описание: In today's episode I try Filipino Food for the FIRST TIME! I went down to Reyta's in Cherry Hill, NJ and got all these amazing foods. For appetizers I got the Lumpiang Shanghai, for the main dish I got the Kare Kare, and for dessert I got the Leche Flan!

Lumpia Shanghai 6pcs $4.99 - Deep fried egg roll with ground pork, onions and carrots.
It came in 6 pieces along with a dipping sauce and these look like mini egg rolls. It has a fried smell to it and when you bite into it, it was so crispy and crunchy while the inside had a soft chew - I loved it! There was a sauce that came with it and the closest thing I could compare it to was McDonald's Sweet Chili sauce!

Eating the lumpiang shanghai alone was delicious but with the sauce that came with it - it just elevated it to another level! It has this tangy smell and taste to it and you can see bits of chili peppers in it but by no means was it spicy. It was definitely sweet and sour with the vinegar taste to it. It wasn't overly sweet either - so good!

Kare Kare $18.99 - Kare-kare - simmered oxtail, tripe and vegetables, peanut-based sauce with bagoong.
I was really excited to try this out because I was so intrigued by the Philippines version of the ox tail soup. There's a Korean dish that I am very fond of so I just had to try this! The veggies consisted of string beans, bok choy, and eggplants. All were good! The peanut sauce broth was amazing - I never had a peanut based soup before and it was definitely a great first time experience. The ox tail was good too - meat was tender on the outside but as you work your way towards the meat on the bone it gets chewier. Really good mouth feel and flavor!

As I was trying all of this, I totally forgot to try out the Bagoong that came with it! It's a fermented fish/shrimp paste and it's super salty and stinky and oily. The stew itself was flavorful by its peanut self, however it was sort of on the mild side. When I mixed in the bagoong, it totally changed the flavor profile of the stew and to be honest it provided a much needed salt aspect to the dish which made it so much better. I highly recommend this dish guys and if you get the bagoong sauce - make sure to mix it in with the peanut sauce stew! A little goes a long way though so be careful.

Leche Flan $4.99 - Filipino dessert composed of custard atop a pool of easy homemade caramel, baked in a flan mold to creamy perfection.
Man this was so milky and creamy and sweet with a little eggy custard vibe going on - SO GOOD! The texture is super silky and creamy - SO GOOD! Definitely try this out!
