The alleged Malayalam language imposition by the Kerala government has once again triggered strong opposition from Kannada-speaking regions, with political motives now being questioned openly. According to Somanna Bevinamarada, President of the Kannada Border Area Development Authority, this move is nothing but politics driven by upcoming Kerala elections.Reacting sharply, Somanna stated that the Malayalam language bill will not bring any real victory to Kerala, just as a similar attempt in 2017 failed to yield complete success in the Kerala Assembly. He emphasized that forcing Malayalam on Kannadigas is completely unacceptable and against constitutional spirit.
